German Club 2014-2015
German club worked hard on our banner for the homecoming theme "South Cinema". These troopers marched in the homecoming parade, despite the horrible weather!

In November German club made lanterns for St. Martin's Day. St Martin was not really a saint but a bishop who was so loved by the people for his modest yet giving-nature. On 11. November each year, children do a lantern parade in remembrance of him.

On December 8th after school, 25 students came to bake some cookies.
1 group made Zimtsterne - cinnamon stars 1 group made Gipferl - almond crescent cookies 2 groups made Spitzbuben - double-decker cookies with jam in-between |
30 German club students came out and put on an experience German fair at the Glenview Public Library on January 10th. They ran stations ranging from discussing the significance of German/Germany, to eating homemade German goodies (as long as participants asked for it in German!), to dancing, crafts and vocabulary games.
