Founded in 1981, the Glenbrook Academy of International Studies is a nationally recognized program, integrating the teaching and learning of English, Social Studies, and World Languages for students in the Glenbrook High Schools.
Students may apply in 8th grade to participate in the program. 30 incoming freshmen are selected each year based on their application, test scores, an interview, teacher recommendations and writing prompts.
Each incoming class is assigned one of four languages (German, Chinese, Spanish, French), which they will study throughout their four years in academy.
The class of 2017 is currently studying German.
The class of 2021 will be the next academy cycle to study German.
